What is Bulgogi?
Bulgogi is a Korean dish made of thinly sliced beef that is marinated in a sweet and savory sauce. The meat is usually marinated overnight to allow the flavors of the marinade to fully penetrate the beef. The marinade typically consists of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and sugar. It can also include green onions, ginger, and other spices. After the meat is marinated, it is cooked over an open flame or in a skillet.
The Benefits of Making Bulgogi in a Slow Cooker
Cooking Bulgogi in a slow cooker allows the flavors to combine and develop more deeply. This is because the slow cooker traps the flavors of the marinade and allows them to slowly simmer and blend together. Additionally, slow-cooking requires less attention than traditional Bulgogi. You can just toss the ingredients into the slow cooker, set the timer, and let it do its thing.
How to Make Bulgogi in a Slow Cooker
Making Bulgogi in a slow cooker is easy and requires minimal effort. Start by marinating the beef overnight in the Bulgogi marinade. Once the marinade is complete, add the beef and remaining marinade to the slow cooker and set the timer. Depending on the type of slow cooker you have, cooking times can vary. Once the beef is cooked, you can serve it over steamed rice or in a lettuce wrap for a light and healthy meal.
